Since this is my first post I should say a bit about myself and the teacher exchange.  First, I am a high school teacher in South Florida.  I have been teaching for 19 years, including 12 years at the current high school. I have taught middle school through high school social studies subjects in Florida, Japan, and Colombia. Currently I teach AP Government & Politics and AP US History.

January 2012 I was named a Civic Voices International Fellow.   This fellowship, sponsored by American Federation of Teachers Educational Foundation, will enable me to travel to Ulaanbaatar (Ulan Bator), Mongolia in March for an international exchange with Mongolian educators and students.  The objectives of this trip include civics education, teaching democratic concepts, and sharing pedagogic strategies.  I am very excited for this honor!
